However, soaring rents and economic challenges eventually forced many artisans to relocate, leaving behind empty shells of once-bustling workshops.

By focusing on those who spent decades honing their craft in these old houses, “Artisan II” aims to reignite the spirit that once breathed life into George Town’s heritage shophouses. The exhibition’s immersive installations capture the intimate bond between artisans and their craft, reflecting the significance of preserving the unique cultural tapestry they represent.
